Rubber Sandals - Handcrafted by Skilled Artisans, Recycled from Car Tires, With the message of protecting our living environment.
RUBBERSANDAL STORY
The Rubbersandal story would not be possible without the vision of Diana, Rubbersandal founder and CEO. During a trip to DaNang some years ago, he purchased a pair of sandals with soles made from motorbike tyres. The unique sandals prompted Diana to learn more about the worldwide tyre problem, and he found that over one billion waste tyres end up in landfills every years.
It was this startling statistic, and what should be done to alleviate this problem that was the impetus to launch the Rubbersandal brand in 2013. To this day, it is the foundation on which Rubbersandal is built. Repurposing rubber tyres, which are consciously sourced from landfills, mechanic garages, and gutters from all around DaNang and other islands of Vietnam. We have built continuous relationships based on respect and trust with the original suppliers and artisans employed since the brands humble beginnings.
Producing rubber sandals is a long-standing profession of our country. It's a job in a country that is being forgotten. So we have maintained this profession. Our mission to seek out businesses and people with a strong ethos of sustainability.
Having traveled extensively over the last 20 years, Diana has experienced first hand the devastating effects of the over-consumption of materials on this planet is having to our natural environment, especially our oceans and coastlines, and the livelihoods of people who live near them, particularly in the third world.
Here at Rubbersandal Vietnam, we are proud to be the custodians of the brand, and all that it stands for. After all, it’s Vietnam, and .... Rubbersandal - the pride of Vietnam - Now you can look good and feel even better about wearing them.
